Il gruppo si forma nel 2007 e, dopo varie line up, arriva alla formazione attuale con l’intento di dare vita ad un progetto new rock capace di amalgamare le rispettive influenze dei componenti della band (che spaziano dal punk, passando per il metal, arrivando al grunge
di inizio anni ’90). La band inizia subito a lavorare a nuovi pezzi propri, tra i quali quelli inclusi in un primo demo inciso nel 2008, e si dedica costantemente all’attività live.
Prende così corpo una miscela di sonorità variegate che confluiscono nella potenza delle chitarre supportate da una sezione ritmica decisa e ben evidenti nei pezzi del nuovo promo, self titled, completamente autoprodotto nel febbraio del 2009 – dapprima sotto la
guida di Fabio Intraina (Tray Studio) e poi di Icio e Peo (Hate Studio). La pubblicazione di questo lavoro segna un importante passo avanti sia dal punto di vista compositivo che da quello professionale, proiettando il gruppo in una nuova dimensione mentale.
Il 2009 è un anno molto impegnativo per l’intensa attività live e per il continuo lavoro in sala prove che porta la band ad un nuovo livello artistico, più personale e ricco. Il 2010 prosegue nella stessa direzione e a luglio il gruppo intraprende il primo tour in Germania.
Dopo due anni di concerti, i Soundtrack of a summer si sono presi del tempo per concentrarsi sulle loro canzoni, con la volontà di spingerle ad un livello superiore. Tra maggio e giugno 2011 hanno registrato, con l’aiuto di Ettore Gilardoni, il loro primo full-lenght, in uscita in autunno per l’etichetta milanese Rocketman Records, con la quale hanno intrapreso un percorso di collaborazione.
The band was formed in Parma, Italy, in 2007. After several changes, the current lineup began creating a new rock project, able to mix each band member’s personal influences (ranging from punk and metal to the grunge of early 90s). The band immediately started working on new songs, including those collected in a first demo recorded in 2008, and devoted itself to constant live activity.
A varied blend of sounds took shape, merging the power of guitars, backed by a strong rhythm section, with intense vocal melodies, as pointed out by the tracks from the new promo, fully self-produced in February of 2009. The release of this work marked an important step forward both in terms of composition and of professional skills. During 2009, touring and working in the rehearsal room brought the band a new, richer and heightened sensibility.
The year 2010 keeps the same direction and in July the band undertakes its first tour in Germany.
Soundtrack of a summer then focused on composing new songs, willing to push their music to another level. Between May and June 2011 the band signed to the independent label Rocketman Records (Milan) and entered the studio with Ettore Gilardoni to record its first album, to be in stores and online in December.
